We know that it makes an event much more enjoyable when you don't have to worry about leaving the field just to hit the highway. With that being said, we have lots of night flying and other night-time festivities planned that you won't want to miss so here is the information you need to know so that you can stay at the field all day and night!
Rough camping is available for all registered pilots and their guests for the event beginning Friday. The field is located down a mile-long dirt road with no other neighbors so the setting is perfect for tent camping or RV's. Those bringing larger RV's should note that the road may have low-hanging branches and the field entry gate requires some precision to get through, but in general it is passable by all vehicles.
This venue, while really nice, is still a flying field and not a campground so you'll have to bring your own supplies to "rough it". Portable toilets are available at the field, but that is the extent of the services provided; hey, its FREE!
Event staff will be on-site all day on Friday so when you arrive just find one of them and they'll direct you to the designated camping area.
- No open ground fires are allowed at NCRCC. We will have a nightly fire where all attendees are welcome to join in the conversation and good times so leave your firewood at home!
- We ask that generators are shut down between the hours of 10:30pm and 7am. This isn't a hard-set rule, but good judgement must be used if you need power during the overnight hours.
- Per the Ellington, CT Fire Marshall - No refueling of portable gasoline equipment (including generators) is allowed on the premises. Bring your generators to the event fully fueled and you should be all set.
